About Us

The Bridge is a dynamic church community based in Denton, Texas, led by Duane and Kris White. Currently we meet at The Murchison Performing Arts Center on the campus of UNT every Sunday at 10:30am. If you are just browsing through the site and have never been, we'd love to see you there!

Our vision is to be a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-generational community of missional believers making a global impact by bridging all people to God's presence, discovering His purpose, and celebrating His promise throughout the world.

Vision and Values

Our Mission is simply, to connect people to life.

Our Vision is to be a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-generational community of missional believers making a global impact by bridging all people to God's presence, discovering His purpose, and celebrating His promise throughout the world.

Our Dream is to build a community of missional believers that seize the opportunity to reach out to this ever growing populous with the message of God's grace. Our mission is to train and equip people to fulfill their destiny, having a positive effect on the marketplace, the arts, science, politics, education, and all facets of society. With our missions heart to impact the world, we are not only called to be a missions training and resource center, but to touch the world in our own back yard. We believe everyone is called to be a missionary - loving and leading the people in your everyday life.

Our Core Values

The Pillars that hold The Bridge

Believing
In a world where cynicism and doubt try to steal our hope, we are a people who hold on to our faith (Hebrews 11) and exalt the truth of the Bible. We believe that God is still speaking to His people. We honor the preaching and study of the Word and the Holy Spirit's intent to bring revelation to grow and shape our lives. We believe that revelation and relationship are the primary ways God builds His kingdom.

Relating
We believe in relating the Gospel in a relevant way that connects its power and truth to each generation and culture. We believe we are not meant to  live life alone, but in meaningful relationship with God and each other. As a community we are called to relate and walk in a spirit of unity with all Christians from different cultures and all walks of life.

Investing
We are called to be a resource training and sending center to impact the world around us. We live to give of our time, talents, influence, and stuff. We believe that true living is in giving and serving beyond ourselves. As people of faith we are called to see the seeds of potential in people and invest in them to see God's purpose fulfilled. We are called to be faithful stewards of what God has entrusted to us and seek opportunities to invest and advance His kingdom.

Discovering
God has great things prepared for us on our journey of life (2 Corinthians 2:9). Part of this great discovery is in finding our purpose and who we are in Christ. We are called to equip leaders to discover their spiritual gifts and grow in their relationship with God to reach their full potential and destiny in God.

Going
We are a missional church called to reach our communities, city, country, and the world. We believe we are meant to take God-life into every aspect of life. As a church we are not designed to stay stuck between four walls, but to "go" and have a positive effect on the marketplace, the arts, science, politics, education, and all facets of society. Our dream is that every able member should have a passport ready for when the opportunity to "go" comes.

Experiencing
We are called to experience the dynamics of the Spirit in every part of our lives, not just on Sunday! We believe it is possibly for God to do miracles and wonders, and to bring healing and restoration to "impossible situations." We believe radical praise and intimate worship are keys to experiencing a great relationship with Him. We are called to impart life truths that will help people experience victory in their everyday lives.

Duane and Kris White

With the anthem of their life being, “Not for yourself were you born, but for the whole world”, Duane and Kris White have traveled the world preaching and teaching the promises of God. They founded Beyond These Shores (a missions network) in 2000 and have trained thousands of leaders, funded micro-business empowerment projects, equipped and resourced missionaries and taken hundreds of people on short-term missions trips. The Whites served with their family, Kelsey, Cody, and Ashton as missionaries to the UK for 2 years and have ministered in over 25 different nations. Born with a severe cleft lip and palette, Duane was told he would never be able to speak without impediment. As an international speaker and author, he now miraculously uses his communication skills to teach and challenge people to fulfill their God-given destiny. Duane has a Master of Ministry degree in Leadership from Southwestern Christian University and has been in full-time ministry for 20 years.

Kris has a powerful testimony of how God delivered her from negative self image and compulsive eating, losing 56 lbs. and keeping the weight off for over 10 years! Her teaching on this subject has been taught by herself and others around the world. She is a full-time mom, minister and conference speaker and is passionate about seeing worth and dignity restored to women.

Duane and Kris have been married for sixteen years and love to impart the thrill of living for “something bigger than yourself” into the hearts of all people. In April 2007, Duane and Kris along with their core plant team, are launching The Bridge Church in Denton, Texas. Their mission is to “connect people to life” and to serve as a model of missional church and multi-cultural faith community.
